The statue of America's foremost civil rights leader -- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. -- has been defaced, painted white.

Now Hollywood police are trying to determine whether this case is a hate crime or just vandalism.

A homeless man reported seeing three teens tagging the doorways of nearby businesses, all wearing black.
