There's new line of denim out there that promises to fit real women with real bodies.
They're designed by the wife of NBA legend Magic Johnson.
And she says women with curves never need to suffer in dressing rooms again.
Cookie Johnson is on to something here: A blue jean with more room in the rear, and the thigh.
Denim for real women, she says women like herself.
"I could not find a jean out there to fit me. I've tried 100 pairs of jeans, could buy whatever I want, but nothing fit me," Johnson said during a recent visit to the Dallas area.
"The industry only made a denim line that fit one body. There's so many other bodies out there, and there's so many other real bodies out there, so I decided to design jeans that would fit a real woman with a real body."
The result is "CJ by Cookie Johnson" jeans, a premium denim line for women with curves.
"We can go from a size 4, to a size 18," she says. "All of our fabrics have a stretch to them, so they're very comfortable, and they move with the body."
Johnson says her jeans also cover what they're supposed to, without looking frumpy.
"So we raised the rise just a little bit, but not so much that you felt you're wearing your mother's jeans, and in the back it comes up a little bit higher so it covers everything that needs to be covered, and it has a little more room in the thighs."
Said one north Texas woman, after trying on a pair.
"Usually for my body type, if they fit in the hips and the thighs, they're usually a little bit loose in the waist and these are perfect. They're a little bit below the waist, but not too far below. And they feel like maybe they've got a little bit of stretch in them."
And Johnson says great fitting jeans are a big confidence boost for women.
CJ jeans are not cheap. Expect to pay about $150 to $200.
