The men and women of fire station 825 in Clinton, MD respond to about 40 calls a day, but one from this past Saturday morning is sure to stick out for years to come.
"En route to the call we ended up having a bystander jump out in the middle of the road and say, 'Hey, I think a car just went over the embankment here, " said a paramedic.
When they arrived on scene off the side of temple hill road, they found a car upside down and partially submerged in a creek.
"We saw a vehicle overturned, tested the vehicle for stability, jumped into action, got in the water" said a paramedic.
When they made it into the water they found a woman seatbelted inside. She had no pulse and was not breathing. Technically, she had drowned and was dead. And then they noticed, she was pregnant.
"I don't know what happened, but yeah, I'm okay! I'm here!" she said.
That woman was 23-year-old Sade Davis. Those paramedics were able to get Sade breathing again, and as you can see, she and her unborn child survived.
After spending four days in the hospital, she returned home and was able to meet the team that saved her life and her baby.
"I'm supposed to be here, so I know that's why I'm sitting here right now... and Jayden, he's supposed to be here, that's why he's kicking right now," said Sade.
So many things worked out in Sade's favor that day. The firefighters were already in the area on another call, they were flagged down by a passer-by who's the only person known to have seen the accident.
The circumstances saved the firefighters precious minutes, and produced this happy ending.
"Definitely saved me and my baby's life. I don't know where I would have been without you guys. It's just a blessing and a miracle that you saved me, so it's a double rainbow. It's definitely a double miracle sitting right here!" said Sade.
