The lack of black fathers is a subject given its share of attention in mainstream media. The fact that there is a rising number of black children born into a single-parent home is worth the attention. However, we should never neglect to celebrate the countless number of African-American men who proudly commit to fatherhood. These men may never make the cover of a newspaper or headline a broadcast, but these men mean everything to the lives of the children they continue to inspire.
