A 16-year-old girl's quick thinking and her level head under pressure helped her save her brother's life along a Denton, Texas highway. Cayaana Kniper, a Krum High School student, used the Heimlich maneuver to stop her brother from choking. She learned it in school two years ago. "It (was) just one of those things where you act," she said.

Actor Don Cheadle is starring in the new and highly anticipated Iron Man 2. A lifelong fan of Marvel comics, Cheadle is set to replace fellow actor Terrence Howard as Lt. Colonel James "Rhodey' Rhodes, who was thrilled to get a chance to wear the costume - that is - until he tried on the metal suit required for the role.

Every once in awhile, someone will ask 16-year-old Kiera Brinkley about what happened to her legs and arms. She'll explain: doctors had to amputate them or a bacterial infection that raged in her blood would have killed her. She was two at the time. Sometimes, she'll get a rude stare or a harsh question and her normally sunny mood shifts.

For cravers who have found themselves relaxing at home wishing their room could be filled with the steam-grilled-on-a-bed-of-onions scent of beef, White Castle has answered the call. To celebrate its 18th Annual National Hamburger Month, the 89-year-old fast-food chain is offering up a candle that literally smells like a Slider.

Pearls of wisdom from President Barack Obama: Few things in life are harder to find and more important to keep than love. "Well, love and a birth certificate," he quipped at Saturday's black-tie White House Correspondents' Association dinner, poking fun at the birther movement, which questions whether the president was born in the United States.

Northern Europe, a region best known for bitter winters, endless dark nights, and stark naked jumps in the snow after hot sauna sessions, may initially evoke an "I don't think so," remark when suggested over hot spots like Ibiza, or the Caribbean. Maybe it's time to re-think that decision and set your GPS north this summer.

More than 30 percent of all slaves taken from Africa were sent to Brazil, a country with the largest population of blacks outside of the continent of Africa. Most of these slaves were first taken to and "broken" in Salvador da Bahia before being sent to work elsewhere in the country.

This Saturday, the legendary Betty White will make her debut on Saturday Night Live at age 88. The result of a massive viral campaign, White's hosting gig is highly anticipated by fans of the show. This got theGrio thinking, while we love regular hosts like Alec Baldwin, there are tons of deserving and neglected stars who should get a shot at headlining this late night institution. Here are our dream picks.
