The Obama campaign Wednesday officially launched "African-Americans for Obama" -- their program to motivate black voters to turn out in the November elections.

It will include initiatives for barber shops, beauty salons, black-owned businesses and historically-black colleges. Many of these same tactics were employed in 2008. The campaign is likely to target its black outreach to swing states like North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia, places where the president won in 2008 but his poll numbers have dipped in the last three years and a strong black turnout could help him win.
