Republican Rick Barber -- who is currently contesting Martha Roby in a runoff to determine the GOP candidate for Alabama's 2nd District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives -- is no stranger to controversial campaigning.

Some of his ads have included a staged bar-room conversation during which he expresses his displeasure with the IRS to the ghosts of our Founding Fathers and an impassioned monologue where he disparages the Obama administration for its response to a "Ground Zero mosque."

In his latest ad, Barber stages a conversation with Abe Lincoln and compares the recently passed health care bill to slavery.

"If someone's forced to work for months to pay taxes so that a total stranger can get a free meal, medical procedure or a bailout, what's that called? What's it called when one man is forced to work for another?" Barber demands.

And in a deep and foreboding voice, Lincoln replies, "Slavery."
