In yet another interesting turn of events in Alvin Greene's mercurial candidacy for the U.S. Senate seat representing South Carolina, a catchy rap song supporting the nominee, complete with its own music video, has gone viral on the web.
"When I say 'Alvin' you say 'Greene'. Alvin Greene, Alvin Greene" is the chorus in the 3-minute video shown below which is being called "Alvin Greene is on the Scene."

While the credits at the end of the video bill Greene as the director, producer and editor, the nominee says he had nothing to do with it. He does, however, like the song and recently told reporters, "It sounds good. Make sure everybody hears it."
Greene's approval comes despite an allusion in the lyrics to his recent legal troubles:
"Well Greene's a new face in politics and he don't show porno to college chicks."
A San Francisco-based producer named Jay Friedman has since claimed responsibility for the video and explained to CNN that it was "mean to be a parody."
Even still, Greene seems to have taken ownership of the unconventional video and has tweeted it on his campaign twitter page.
