WATCH VIDEO OF COUNCILWOMAN TELLING KIDS TO GET RID OF BAGGY PANTS
A Baton Rouge, Louisiana Councilwoman is telling kids in the Capital City to pull up their pants. C. Denise Marcell she says she wants kids in Baton Rouge to be as successful as they can, but their wardrobe might be in the way.
"It doesn't look well number one, and number two, I think it lessens your chances of being employable," says the councilwoman of the baggy pants look.
She's trying to get a resolution passed in council. It's called "Low Pants - No Chance".The message is to tell kids who sag their pants they're hurting their futures.
"People do not like it, people do not want it in their businesses," continues the councilwoman. Marcelle says several businesses in her district have promised to kick people who wear sagging pants out of their stores.
Some disagree about the new resolution, saying just having the baggy pants isn't a reason to think twice about someone. "It's like its a book, you know what I'm saying, you're just seeing the cover, you know what I'm saying ,and if the cover of the book is toe-off halfway, like our pants being down, you know what I'm saying, you misjudge that book, and not want to read that book," says a Louisiana citizen.
