An Alabama judge is sitting on the opposite side of the bench. He is being accused of improper relationships with male inmates.

Jury selection is underway in the case against former Mobile County judge Herman Thomas. Thomas is accused of spanking inmates in exchange for sentencing leniency.

The defense contends the inmates are lying.
