On Tuesday, the Congressional Black Caucus takes its “For the People” Jobs Initiative to Detroit, Michigan, hosting a job fair and town hall.

Six members of the CBC will participate in the event at Wayne County Community College, hosted by Reps John Conyers and Hansen Clarke.

The events are free and open to the public.

The “For the People” Jobs Initiative includes a five-city tour, and launched last week in Cleveland, Ohio. After Detroit, the tour goes to Atlanta, Georgia, August 18-19; Miami, FL August 22-23 and Los Angeles, CA August 30-31.

The tour is intended to promote a CBC-sponsored jobs resolution (H. Res 348) calling for a comprehensive national initiative to create jobs in struggling communities. The resolution was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives in July. The resolution has yet to come to the floor.
