ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- A spokesman for Tiger Woods says the golfer has been released from a hospital in good condition after being injured in an accident near his Orlando, Fla.-area mansion.
The Florida Highway Patrol says Woods hit a fire hydrant and a tree with his SUV after pulling out of his driveway shortly before 2:30 this morning.
The accident report classified Woods' injuries as serious, but injuries are considered serious by police if they require more than minor medical attention.
The mayor of a nearby community says police from his village were among the first on the scene and reported Woods had cuts on his face.
The FHP says the accident is being investigated and charges could be filed, although alcohol wasn't involved.
