Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference is underway in San Francisco. Apple unveiled its newest iPhone software with 100 new features. The new iPhone 3GS will be available June 19th. And for those who are okay with having a less tech-savvy iPhone at a lower price, the current iPhone 3G will remain on the market, but at just $99. That's by far the lowest price ever for any iPhone. Apple is also set to lower the prices for its MacBook Pro computers.
There's new, faster iPhone hardware as well, the 3GS. Upgrades include the ability to shoot video, an auto focus camera, and a turn-by-turn navigation system. And if you lose your iPhone another 'app' can help find it.
The unveiling comes on the heels of iPhone's biggest threat, the new Palm Pre, which hit the market last Saturday.
The OSX Snow Leopard is Apple's newest version of its operating system for Mac computers. It's reportedly faster and able to integrate fully with Microsoft Exchange.
Apple also showed off its entire line of laptops. It's Macbook line will have a 40% longer battery life.
Outside the conference center the line of Mac faithful stretched nearly a full city block.
They're here for for more than a chance to see the latest and greatest Apple products.
"Nothing would make me happier than to see the real Steve Jobs," said one fan.
Jobs, who co-founded Apple in 1976 has been on a medical leave for the last six months. He was treated for pancreatic cancer five years ago and looked ill at a company event in January when he stepped down from his role as the company's CEO.
Reports that Jobs plans to return to work at the end of this month fueled speculation that he might make an appearance at the convention, but Jobs was a no-show at today's event.
