For Lori Bell, the military is a way of life. Being a military spouse and mother she is someone who knows first-hand the struggles they face and decided to create an online platform where people like her could find common ground.

Bell and her husband make up and Air Force couple, and she is the mother of two with a third on the way. Lori retired a few years ago but her husband served for 15 years and recently returned to Afghanistan. This last separation was when she had the idea to start the National Association of Military Moms and Spouses, an online community that offers support on finances, child care, even tips on how to get through a long-term deployment.

"We're able to help each other and get through the good times and the not-so-good times," says Bell of the online community. "Our husbands are the backbone of our force," she continues.

"She has served in the military ten years and now she continues to serve, just in a different capacity," says Bell's husband about his wife's extraordinary efforts.

"I tell them to prosper where you're planted," replies Lori, "And that means use your gifts and talents to create the life you want with the military you get."
