Jada Pinkett-Smith has been preparing her daughter, 9 year-old Willow, for the stage for quite sometime now. Willow's statement looks, thick gold chains, cheetah-print, and her half-shaven tresses are all no style mistake. We've heard rumblings from the streets that Willow will be dropping an album. Now today, the next star on the rise from the Smith clan drops a new track appropriately titled "Whip My Hair."
According to our buddy Necole Bitchie, who got the word from Lowkey (sounding like that old school game Telephone, yet?) that none other than Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter is rumored to be working with Willow and will supposedly sign the Smith wild child to his Roc Nation label.
LISTEN TO WILLOW'S SONG HERE:
Willow's "Whip My Hair" is a fusion of banging beats fitting for the kiddie club at middle school "Back to School" jams. Think Lil' Mama meets Rihanna. Willow chants, "I whip my hair back and forth." The track is too cute and, yes, we're banging it stupid out loud through our iPhone 4Gs.
It's a fine time for young Willow to break through and hold ground. There's presently no young Black girls reppin' for the tween music market. Willow could easily pick up where Raven-Symone's 1993 anthem for the small brown girls, That's What Little Girls Are Made Of left off. We're digging Willow's new banger and we holding our breathe for the video. You know young Willow will bring crazy fashions!
