2004 was an incredible year for Fantasia Barrino. Her life was transformed when she went from being a single mom struggling to make ends meet it to becoming the winner of the third season of American Idol. Following her victory she produced a chart-topping debut album, toured with Kanye West, and made truckloads of money.
But six years later, Fantasia finds herself at a crossroads. Her sophomore album did not perform nearly as well as expected. Her Broadway debut took a hit as she missed 50 performances. She nearly lost her house while trying to support six different family members.
Now she's attempting to rebuild her career and in the meantime revealing the lessons she learned along the way. She sat down with theGrio to talk about her fight to get back on track.
