A concert in Dr. Martin Luther King's honor --"The Message In The Music" -- continued the MLK Memorial dedications even as the impending Hurricane Irene pre-empted some of the planned activities to come. Various artists joined the celebration by performing songs that inspired the civil rights movement of the 1960s. The concert that took place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. included stars like Stevie Wonder, India Arie, Patti LaBelle, the Impressions and more.
