If you were alive - and owned a radio - in the 50s and 60s, then you know about Chuck Berry. If you weren't alive then, you still know about Chuck Berry, who has been around for a long time. The songs that Chuck helped memorialize -- "Maybellene," "Roll over Beethoven," "Johnny be Good" -- are legendary sounds that are the original rock and roll. Berry's thumping back beats and the driving rhythms aren't hard to find in current pop hits.
