CHICAGO (AP) - An interactive exhibit chronicling the lives of 20 black women who played roles in the struggle for civil rights and equality has opened at a Chicago museum.
"Freedom's Sisters" runs through April 4 at the DuSable Museum of African American History on Chicago's South Side.
The exhibit uses audio and includes the stories of leaders like Harriet Tubman who was famous for the Underground Railroad and journalist Ida B. Wells who led anti-lynching efforts.
The traveling exhibit is a collaboration of the Smithsonian Institution and Cincinnati Museum Center.
It also includes C. Delores Tucker who was the country's first black secretary of state and audio of Barbara Jordan giving her keynote address at the 1976 Democratic National Convention.
