What is the biggest challenge women face in the 21st century? Carla Harris, Managing Director at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, sits down with theGrio and discusses how women must harness their power to achieve success.
Harris has worked on Wall Street for 22 years and currently provides investment advice to corporations, public pension plans, foundations and endowments. She worked on the equity syndicate desk and executed the initial public offerings for UPS, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Ariba and others.
Harris recently wrote "Expect to Win: Proven Strategies for Success from a Wall Street Vet" and is an accomplished singer with two CDs - Carla's First Christmas and Joy is Waiting. She has received numerous accolades over the years such as placement on Fortune Magazine's "The 50 Most Powerful Black Executives in Corporate America", Fortune's "The Most Influential List", Black Enterprise Magazine's "Top 50 African Americans on Wall Street" and Essences Magazine's list of "The 50 Women Who Are Shaping the World" to name a few.
