Bertha Lewis, ACORN's CEO, spoke at the National Press Club today. She responded to the recent allegations that the group misused federal dollars and gave advice to people posing as pimps and prostitutes.

Lewis says ACORN has launched its own internal investigation and says the group has already dismissed members of staff who were involved in the scandal.

She tried to keep the focus on ACORN's work with minority and low-income groups and the success they have had, praising the employees who, she said, "by and large did do the right thing."

Ms. Lewis also said she will resign next year if she cannot resolve the investigation.
