Fans remember Michael

All over the country people are remembering, and celebrating the life of music icon Michael Jackson. In Los Angeles mourners gathered all over the city as news spread about the pop star's sudden death.

"It's numbing, it's numbing. Great man, great music," said one mourner.

"He set a standard for music, regardless of everything else. He is history and we all owe him respect," said another mourner.

In Jackson's hometown of Gary, Indiana is was a mix of grief and celebration as fans held a vigil at Jackson's boyhood home. "I love him, he's like a brother. He's been there for all my life, I don't know. I mean it's like losing a family member," said one woman.

And in New York, at the famed Apollo Theater people chanted Michael Jackson's name as they listened to his music and remembered the pop star's life.

Meanwhile, in Philadelphia at a local barber shop Robert Woodard, remembered the day 30 years ago when Michael Jackson came in for a haircut.

"I have not accepted Michael Jackson's death. I hate to, I have not. I am too busy thinking about all the life, all the direction he was going and how much more he had to do. It's just not death involved there," said Woodard.

No doubt more vigils will be held around the country as people come to terms with the death of a legend and an inspiration to millions.
